医療環境における環境サービス従事者への COVID-19 の影響：スコーピングレビュー★

背景
新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）パンデミックを受けて、入念な清掃と環境サービス従事者に対する需要が急激に高まった。COVID-19 パンデミックが医療従事者に及ぼす影響を調査した文献はあるが、同様に最前線で重要な役割を果たす環境サービス従事者はそれほど重視されていない。
目的
COVID-19 パンデミックが、医療環境における環境サービス従事者に及ぼす影響を調査すること。
方法
スコーピングレビューの手法をとった。医療情報専門家と協議のうえ、さまざまなキーワードの組み合わせ（環境サービス従事者「environmental services worker」 OR 衛生職員「health attendant」 OR 病室整備「housekeeping」）AND（コロナウイルス感染症「COVID」 OR コロナウイルス「coronavirus」 OR パンデミック「pandemic」 OR 流行「epidemic」）を用いる検索法を作成した。4 つの文献データベース（OVID Medline、Embase、Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature［CINAHL］、Cochraneデータベース）を用いて、発端から 2022 年 7 月 5日まで検索した。
結果
計 24 報の研究を本レビューの対象とした。研究デザインは概して横断的であった。環境サービス従事者（病室整備、清掃、守衛の職員）は、同施設の他の臨床および非臨床職員と比較して、血清検査で COVID-19 陽性率が有意に高いことが明らかにされた。さらに、定性インタビューによると、パンデミック時に勤務する環境サービス従事者は、精神的ストレスがより大きかった。
結論
環境サービス従事者は、パンデミック時にとくに職務ストレスが高まりやすく、COVID-19 に罹患しやすかった。これらの従事者を支援するために、保健衛生システムは、もっと多くのことを実施する必要がある。さらなる研究により、多くの医療労働者のなかで認識されていないこの集団に利益をもたらす具体的な方針および手順の変更について検討できるであろう。
監訳者コメント：
COVID-19 パンデミック中の医療環境を整備する仕事の従事者にフォーカスしたレビューである。発生後約 2 年半の間に、関連する論文が 24 報探知されたことは、今回のパンデミックが環境整備と、その仕事に従事する人の健康管理の必要性の高さを示していると思われた。
