Sustainable application of ready-to-use disinfectant wipes in clinical practice: efficacy, handling, and contamination risks

背景

医療施設は、温室効果ガス排出を減少させるという難問に直面している。この状況では(この文脈において、)、感染制御の一環として表面消毒ワイプの使用については特別に考慮する必要がある。本研究では、患者の安全や労働安全を損なうことなく良好なエコバランスを確保する消毒ワイプの選択肢について調べた。使用者が使うときのいつもの手順と実験室での検査のパラメータについて考えた。

方法

本研究は、臨床観察研究と実験室での相補的な分析で構成された。実験室試験では、異なる3 種類のアルコール製含有ワイプを評価し、異なる表面で、表面被覆面積と液体放出量を評価した。使用後ワイプ上の微生物残存のリスク、ワイプから手袋への微生物移行するリスクを調査した。観察研究では、3 つの臨床部門で 69 回のワイプ処置を記録した。

結果

セルロース製のワイプは、2 種類の異なるワイプと比較して優れた表面被覆性能を示し、2枚重ねでの使用は、すべてのワイプおよびすべての試験表面において、一貫して 1 枚での使用を上回る性能であった。ワイプは、拭き取り範囲の終端においても有効性基準を満たした。移動リスク評価では、微生物がワイプ内で生存可能な状態を保ち、手袋に移行する可能性があることが示された臨床観察では、折り畳み法と拭き取り技術に大きなばらつきが認められた。

結論

本研究は、ワイプ使用に関する表面被覆、取り扱いに関係するばらつき、汚染リスクの主要な側面を明らかにしている。本結果は、感染予防基準を維持しながら、すぐに使えるワイプの持続可能な使用を支持するための、適切なワイプの取り扱いと手袋使用の重要性を強調している。
