抗菌手袋のテクノロジーの現状に関する批評的レビュー：進展、課題、将来的な展望

近年のウイルスの流行を受けて、手袋の世界的な需要が著しく高まっている。生物医学的研究では、微生物伝播および院内感染に対処するための抗菌手袋にますます注目が集まっている。大半の抗菌手袋が、消毒薬、殺生物薬、殺菌薬などの抗菌化学物質を用いて製造される。抗菌手袋のデザインには、抗菌効果を増強するためにコロイド粒子、ナノ材料を含む先端技術が取り入れられている。抗菌手袋のカテゴリーでは、動物、植物、微生物由来の天然の抗菌効果も調査し、組み込まれている。多種類の抗菌薬が利用可能である。とはいえ、選択製剤が広域スペクトルの活性を示し、耐性を促進しにくいことが、きわめて重要である。さらに、将来的な研究では、抗菌手袋が皮膚の微生物叢に及ぼす潜在的影響および長時間装着することによる刺激について重点的に取り組むべきである。手袋の力学的特性を損なうことなく、至適効果を確実にするために、抗菌薬を慎重に取り入れることが必須である。
監訳者コメント：
最近の抗菌手袋の発展についてのレビューについて書かれた論文である。手袋の機能には人の手が介在するため、機能的にはこの点を見落とすわけにはいかない。いかに抗微生物活性がすぐれていても、人の手指を寄せ付けないのでは使用に耐えられない。
