Evaluation of zone disinfection by air-passable plasma filter in a novel chamber model

背景

さまざまな疾患の拡散を最小限に抑えるために共有スペースの消毒は必須となっている。閉ざされた空間の空中浮遊菌および表面付着細菌を同時に不活化できる効果的な消毒装置が必要とされる。

目的

開発された通気性プラズマフィルターをチャンバーモデルに適用し、区域消毒の有効性を評価することを目的とした。

方法

60 L チャンバーは、評価に必要なネブライザー、循環ファン、温湿度モニター、密閉ゲート付き空気サンプリングポート、空中浮遊菌の捕獲用培地、および内蔵型ファンで構成されている。バイオエアロゾルとして各細菌株（大腸菌［Escherichia coli］、表皮ブドウ球菌［Staphylococcus epidermidis］、マイコバクテリウム・スメグマチス［Mycobacterium smegmatis］）を噴霧後、通気性プラズマフィルターの区域消毒効果を評価するために、空中浮遊菌および表面付着細菌を同時に定量化した。

結果

60 L チャンバーの通気性プラズマフィルターの適用は、さまざまな場所の空中や壁面に存在する大腸菌（10 分）、表皮ブドウ球菌（10 分）、M. smegmatis（60 分）に対して、完全な区域消毒効果を示した。同じ空間内の空中浮遊菌および表面付着細菌それぞれを完全に消毒するのに要する時間は異なった。

結論

通気性プラズマフィルターは、さまざまな微生物に対して著しい殺菌効果を示す可能性があり、閉ざされた空間の消毒のために効果的な選択肢となりうる。

監訳者コメント：

閉鎖空間における通気性プラズマフィルターの有用性を検討した論文である。オゾンの使用にあたっては、人体への影響を考慮した空間の気密性、確実な換気が求められる。これらを含め、今後の空間の消毒法の一つとして検討されていくのであろうと思われた。
