移動式空気ろ過装置による室内エアロゾル伝播減少効果:前臨床観察試験★

背景
様々な状況下で、重症急性呼吸器症候群コロナウイルス-2 の伝播経路として考えられる範囲は徹底的に調査されてきたが、当局の多くは伝播において、とりわけ換気が不十分な室内環境におけるエアロゾルの拡散の役割について、最近認めている。病棟、教室および職場を含む高リスク環境におけるエアロゾル伝播を軽減するために、工学的制御が必要である。
目的
標準的な建物の空調システムに加えて使用される、HEPA フィルタ付き移動式空気清浄装置によるエアロゾルろ過の有効性を評価すること。
方法
エアロゾルの動きをシミュレートするため、個室病室を含む試験室を、試験用のエアロゾルで満たした。全体のエアロゾル除去速度を定量化するため、種々の移動式空気清浄装置と室内換気システムを用いて、エアロゾル数を経時的に測定した。
結果
移動式空気清浄装置は、エアロゾルの除去に非常に効果的であった。移動式空気清浄装置を用いた対照の小部屋では、空調システムのみを用いた部屋よりも、5 倍速くエアロゾルが除去された。個室病室の換気量は良好であり(1 時間あたりの換気回数は約 14 回)、20 分でエアロゾルが除去された。しかし、2 台の空気清浄装置を追加すると、除去時間は 3 倍速くなった。
結論
安価な移動式空気清浄装置は、入院患者病室および個人防護具の着脱場所といった、医療環境における狭い閉鎖空間に対して検討されるべきである。移動式空気清浄装置は、建物の空調システムによる換気ではエアロゾル伝播減少能力に限界がある場所において、特に重要である。
監訳者コメント:
閉鎖空間での HEPA フィルター付き空気清浄装置の効果を評価した論文である。実際の使用にあたっては、空気清浄機の性能(風量)や置き場所も勘案する必要があり、それらについては、厚生労働省の資料に詳しい。
