過酢酸およびエタノールの殺菌活性を、真菌の臨床分離株 9 株および標準菌株 4 株につして検討した。エタノールは濃度 50％（v/v）で酵母に対して有効であり（≧4.0 log₁₀ 減少）、濃度 80％（v/v）で糸状菌に対して有効であった。いずれも曝露時間は 1 分であった。過酢酸は 0.25％溶液で酵母に対して有効であり、0.5％溶液で糸状菌に対して有効であった。いずれも曝露時間は 5 分であった。多剤耐性株を含む臨床分離株は、消毒薬の有効成分に対するin-vitro の実験系において、標準菌株と比較して同等またはより高い感受性を示した。

監訳者コメント：
本研究ではAspergillus、Cunninghamella、Scedosporiumといった糸状菌、およびExophiala（黒色真菌で、酵母、菌糸の両形態をとる）について殺菌活性を調べており、これらの菌に対する消毒薬の活性の基礎的データとして、今後も有用な情報となると思われる。
