Most international guidelines on prevention of healthcare-associated infection lack comprehensive recommendations for neonates and children

国際的な感染予防・制御ガイドラインでは、成人を対象とした医療関連感染症予防に関する標準化された推奨事項を提供しているが、多くの場合、新生児および小児に関する特異的な情報が欠けている。我々は、感染予防・制御／医療関連感染症に関する 10 のガイドラインをレビューして、医療関連感染症予防に関する小児に特異的な推奨事項を特定した。手指衛生、血流感染症、人工呼吸器関連肺炎、環境制御とアウトブレイク管理は、小児および新生児に適用される推奨事項において高い頻度で報告されていたが、カテーテル関連尿路感染症および手術部位感染症に関する文書はなかった。

監訳者コメント：
各国公的機関が様々な感染対策ガイドラインを出しているが、それらには小児や新生児に対する推奨が欠如していることを、実際にガイドラインをレビューして示した論文である。
そもそも小児や新生児の感染対策に関する研究が極めて少ないため、ガイドラインに記載が少ないのは当然とも言えるし、周知のことではあるが、あえてそれを研究結果として示したところに意義があるのだろうか。ガイドライン作りもそうだが、その基礎となる研究も必要とされている。
