Improved hand hygiene technique and compliance in healthcare workers using gaming technology

背景
世界保健機関（WHO）は 2009 年、医療従事者の手指衛生遵守の改善のために「多角的集学的手指衛生戦略」（手指衛生の 5 つの機会）を使用することを推奨した。この取り組みの一環として、救急医療の場での手指衛生方法を医療従事者に教育するために、ゲーム技術を用いた自動研修・監査ツールによる研修プログラムを実施した。
目的
この自動研修プログラム・監査ツールを集学的戦略の一環として使用することにより、救急医療の場での手指衛生の方法および遵守が改善するかどうかを明らかにすること。
方法
時系列デザインによる準実験計画法を用いて、手指衛生の 5 つの機会の遵守および手洗い方法を評価した。本試験は 2009 年 11 月から 2012 年 4 月に実施した。アデノシン三リン酸（ATP）監視システムを用いて手洗い方法を評価し、自動監査・研修装置 SureWash（Glanta Ltd、Dublin、Ireland）を用いて医療従事者の研修・教育支援を行った。
結果
試験期間全体を通して、手指衛生の方法および遵守が有意に改善した（P ＜ 0.0001）。
結論
新しい自動教育技術を手指衛生プログラムに組み入れることにより、医療従事者の学習参加が促進され、救急医療の場での手指衛生の方法および遵守が改善した。
