Effect of different stabilized preparations of peracetic acid on biofilm

界面活性剤含有または非含有の3種類の安定化過酢酸製剤（Bioxal M）が大腸菌バイオフィルムモデルに及ぼす作用を調べた。バイオフィルムをガラスチューブ内に形成させ、分光光度法で間接的に評価した。安定化過酢酸製剤のバイオフィルムの凝固能または除去能を洗浄活性により測定した。試験を行った製剤はどれもバイオフィルムを固定しなかった。Bioxal M-1のバイオフィルムに及ぼす作用は対照（滅菌水）と同等であった。Bioxal M-2およびBioxal M-3は洗浄活性弱陽性を示した。非イオン性界面活性剤により安定化過酢酸製剤の洗浄活性が向上した。安定化過酢酸製剤は製剤の種類によって異なる洗浄活性を示したが、殺菌能とは無関係であった。この基準は、バイオフィルムの凝固能が最も弱い製剤の選択に利用可能であると考えられる。したがって、利用者は医療器具の洗浄段階における効果を重視すべきである。安定化過酢酸製剤の選択には、抗菌活性に加え、バイオフィルムの除去能を考慮に入れる必要がある。

バイオフィルムとは、細菌が自身を外から防具するために放出するネバネバ物質のことである。これらが細菌を取り巻くことにより、抗菌薬や消毒薬の浸透性が低下し効果が減弱する。こうした現象と高水準消毒薬との関係を生体外で検討した実験である。
