Effectiveness of a combined UV-C and ozone treatment in reducing healthcare-associated infections in hospital facilities

背景

病院感染は、職員による徹底的で効果的な清掃・消毒に左右される多剤耐性菌（MDRO）およびクロストリジオイデス・ディフィシル（Clostridioides difficile）などの他の病原体の存在によって患者の安全を継続的に脅かしている。

方法

本研究では紫外線（UV-C）による空気処理（室内の空気を UV-C で消毒し室内へ再送する）の影響を評価した。さらに、オゾンを室内に放出し、病院のジムなどの低リスクの場所および病室などの高 ～ 中リスクの場所における実際の表面を処理した。この目的のため、環境空気を処理するために設計された移動式装置を、アスペルギルス（Aspergillus）属菌およびクロストリジオイデス属菌を含む 9 つの細菌株に対して試験した。

結果

日常業務中の UV-C 空気処理とオゾン処理の使用によって、クロストリジオイデス属菌以外の病原体の 2 log₁₀ 以上の減少を達成した。

結論

C. difficile の効果的な予防には、通常、毒性が患者だけでなく医療従事者にも有害な可能性がある化学物質および消毒剤を含む併用アプローチの使用を必要とする。したがって、提案された非接触装置は、病院で可能な完全実施に必要な要件を評価するため、今後の研究で検討される可能性がある。
