背景

E 型肝炎ウイルス（HEV）は、急性ウイルス性肝炎の原因として最も多いもので、主として糞口感染または汚染食品の摂取によって伝播する。しかし、HEV の表面における安定性および化学的消毒薬に対する感受性に関して得られているデータは限られている。

目的

HEV の表面における安定性ならびに 9 種類の表面消毒薬の殺ウイルス活性を評価するための HEV を対象としたキャリアアッセイを確立すること。

方法

最近開発された、HEV を対象としたキャリアアッセイのための確実な HEV-3 細胞培養系を使用。

結果

アルコールベースの消毒薬は HEV の感染性を消滅させるのに不十分であるが、アルデヒド、過酢酸、酸素系、および／または四級アンモニウムをベースとした消毒薬は HEV を不活化した。

結論

以上の結果は、HEV 伝播を制御するためのエビデンスに基づいた衛生ガイドラインの推奨を行う上で大きな意義を有している。

監訳者コメント：

HEV はエンベロープをもたない小型の RNA ウイルスであり、近年 HEV の培養系が確立された結果、環境での生存に関する研究が可能となり、ステンレスの表面上で 80 日後にもウイルスが回収されることがわかっている。本論文では各種消毒剤の殺ウイルス効果を確認することができた。一方、低濃度アルコールでは十分な効果がなく、他の消毒剤では効果が認められており、HEV によるアウトブレイク時の環境消毒を検討する上で参考となるデータである。
