N95 マスクの 3 種のモデルにおける臨床使用と過酸化水素蒸気による消毒後の濾過性能★

背景
N95 マスクは、空気感染を引き起こす病原体から医療従事者を保護する上で必須の個人防護具（PPE）である。
目的
N95 マスクの 3 種のモデルにおける臨床使用と過酸化水素蒸気による消毒後の粒子濾過効率（PFE）について初の大規模評価を実施すること。
方法
以下の 3 つの変数について、過酸化水素蒸気による消毒後の PFE に対する影響を評価した：過酸化水素蒸気消毒器モデル、N95 マスクモデル、過去の N95 マスク臨床使用。
結果
過酸化水素蒸気消毒器モデルおよびN95 マスクモデルは、PFE の成績に影響を及ぼした。着用後の N95 マスクでは対照マスクと比較して、PFE ≧ 95％を示すオッズが 91％低かった。
結論
本研究は、いかなる N95 マスク消毒プログラムについても、過去の臨床使用を含めて、その統合性について妥当性を検証することの重要性を示している。
監訳者コメント：
新型コロナの世界的流行により N95 マスクの供給不足が発生し、米国 EPA は緊急使用承認により過酸化水素蒸気による消毒後の再使用を認め、米国とカナダで再使用が開始された。過去のデータは着用していないマスクでの評価であり、本論文は使用後の評価をおこなったところ、PFE の機能低下が認められた。再使用する場合には、消毒機器の種類、N95 マスクの種類、装着使用する状況について評価しておく必要がある。
