四級アンモニウム化合物の吸収決定における素材の特性の影響とバイオフィルムに対するワイプ製品の有効性★

背景
四級アンモニウム化合物を含有する消毒薬ワイプは、医療において広く使用されている。ビスコースは依然としてこれらの製品の一般的な素材であるが、代替物と比較した場合の、バイオフィルムに対する性能への影響に関する入手可能な情報は限られている。
目的
バイオフィルムに対する製品の性能を最適化する消毒薬ワイプ素材および表面特性を明らかにすること。
方法
ASTM E2967 に基づく方法を用いて、2 つの市販のビスコース・四級アンモニウム化合物ワイプによるバイオフィルムの除菌性能を、黄色ブドウ球菌(Staphylococcus aureus)およびアシネトバクター・バウマニー(Acinetobacter baumannii)乾燥表面バイオフィルムに対して決定した。さらに、5 つの素材に塩化ジデシルジメチルアンモニウムを含む市販の液体製剤を含浸させた。24 時間の保管後に、除菌性能および抽出した液体の塩化ジデシルジメチルアンモニウム含有量を決定し、ゼータ電位、疎水性および表面積を含む素材特性と比較した。
結果
厳密な試験条件下で、市販製品による乾燥表面バイオフィルムの除菌は、水を含浸させた同じ素材と同程度であった。ビスコースベースの 1 製品からの抽出液は、含浸液より 89%少ない塩化ジデシルジメチルアンモニウムを含有しており、大量の吸収を示した。試験したその他の素材のうちビスコースの性能は最も悪く、塩化ジデシルジメチルアンモニウムのほぼ 70%が 24 時間以内に素材の抽出液から減少した。対照的に、ポリプロピレンの抽出液からの塩化ジデシルジメチルアンモニウムの減少は 25%のみであり、乾燥表面バイオフィルムの除菌はビスコースの 100 倍超優れていた。両方の菌種に対するバイオフィルムの除菌性能は、抽出液の塩化ジデシルジメチルアンモニウム含有量と相関し、次に抽出液の塩化ジデシルジメチルアンモニウム含有量は、ゼータ電位および疎水性と相関した。
結論
四級アンモニウム化合物ベースのワイプによるバイオフィルム除菌性能は、熱可塑性基質を選択した場合、有意にビスコースより優れていた。しかし、これらの素材は非持続的に供給されるものであり、非生物分解性である。本研究は、バイオフィルムに対してより有効な新たなワイプ製品を開発する必要性を浮き彫りにしている。
監訳者コメント:
四級アンモニウム化合物含侵ワイプの黄色ブドウ球菌およびアシネトバクター・バウマニーに対する効果を調べた論文である。ワイプの布の組成により効果が異なる結果が出ており、大変興味深かった。
