飛散低減臨床用手洗い洗面台は実験モデルシステムにおいてグラム陰性菌で汚染されたシンクの飛沫による拡散を減少させる★

汚染された病院のシンクに関連するリスクを減らすため、感染予防策を特定し評価することが必要である。本研究では落下菌プレートを用いて、排水不良・排水良好の従来型の後部排水の臨床用手洗い洗面台と「飛散低減」臨床用手洗い洗面台由来のグラム陰性菌の拡散を比較した。汚染された洗面台による拡散と汚染された排水管による拡散という 2 つのシナリオを評価した。関連する蛇口を 1 分間開けたところ、すべての汚染シナリオで「飛散低減」臨床用手洗い洗面台が従来型の臨床用手洗い洗面台よりも有意に低い汚染拡散オッズを示した。
監訳者コメント：
手洗いシンクは、しばしばグラム陰性桿菌の伝播のリスクとなりうる。こうした報告から病院新築時、改築時は飛散を低減したシンクを導入することを検討したい。
