医療従事者は重症急性呼吸器症候群コロナウイルス‐2（SARS-CoV-2）感染の高リスク群の 1 つとして認識されている。本研究では病院の特性に基づいて医療従事者の感染リスクを推定した。SARS-CoV-2 感染のリスク増加に有意に関連する因子は、新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）の紹介病院と比較して非紹介病院での勤務、多数の従事者がいる病院での勤務、COVID-19 患者数が増加した病院での勤務であった。本研究によって非紹介病院での感染制御におけるギャップが明らかになった。感染制御の実践に関する継続的なトレーニングが急務である。医療従事者による個人防護具の使用の遵守にも取り組むべきである。

COVID-19 を診療しているいないにかかわらず、医療従事者の院内感染は起こりうる。どの施設でも感染制御の実践に関する継続的なトレーニングが重要であることを改めて認識させられる。
