現在、新型ヒトコロナウイルス(SARS‐CoV‐2)の出現は、ヒトにおいて重症呼吸器感染症をもたらすとして世界的な健康上の懸念となっている。ヒト‐ヒト間伝播では、2 ~ 10 日の潜伏期間があると報告されており、飛沫、汚染された手指または表面を介して感染の拡大が進む。そこで、本稿では、ヒトおよび動物のコロナウイルスの無生物表面上での存続、ならびに化学的消毒に使用される(例えば、医療施設における)殺生物製剤による不活化対策について入手可能なあらゆる情報に関する文献をレビューした。22 件の研究の分析では、重症急性呼吸器症候群(SARS)コロナウイルス、中東呼吸器症候群(MERS)コロナウイルス、流行性ヒトコロナウイルスなどのヒトコロナウイルスは、金属、ガラス、プラスチックのような無生物表面上で最長 9 日間存続しうるが、62 ∼ 71%エタノール、0.5%過酸化水素、または 0.1%次亜塩素酸ナトリウムによる表面消毒法により 1 分以内で効果的な不活化が可能である。その他の殺生物製剤(0.05 ∼ 0.2%塩化ベンザルコニウムまたは 0.02%クロルヘキシジンジグルコン酸塩など)の効果は低い。SARS‐CoV‐2 に対して使用できる特定の治療法はないので、進行中のアウトブレイクの阻止およびこの新型の感染性ウイルスの制御には、早期封じ込めとさらなる拡大の防止がきわめて重要であろう。

監訳者コメント

SARS‐CoV‐2はエンベロープをもつウイルスであり、多くの消毒薬や界面活性剤で不活化することができる。従って消毒薬の選択は、効果・コスト・取り扱いのしやすさなど様々な観点から考慮して選択するのが良い。
