煮沸消毒および蒸気消毒による再使用可能な新生児蘇生器の高水準消毒★

感染症と窒息は、世界的に新生児の 2 大死因となっている。単回使用の蘇生器、または再使用可能な蘇生器の殺菌が利用できない場合、高水準消毒のための効果的で安価な方法が必要とされる。実験室での検証により、再使用可能な新生児蘇生器の高水準消毒を達成する方法として煮沸消毒および密閉蒸気消毒（加圧なし）の有効性を調べた。検証した各製品について抽出・測定した微生物量は、国際的に許容された高水準消毒の基準を満たしていた。煮沸消毒および蒸気消毒は、低所得および中所得国において、再使用可能な新生児蘇生器の再処理のための安価で効果的な方法である。

監訳者コメント：
高所得国では単回製品が主流となっている一方で、COVID-19 の流行で流通が停滞する状況も経験した。安価で効果的な消毒による再使用は低・中所得国だけでなく、今後は高所得国でも検討すべき課題である。
