Natural history of SARS-CoV-2 infection in healthcare workers in Northern Italy

現在、新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）患者の隔離に用いられる時間枠は、症状のある全期間に加えて症状回復後 14 日間である。しかし、医療従事者を対象とした明確なデータは報告されていない。COVID-19 を有する医療従事者 142 名の試験対象集団において、ウイルス消失期間の平均値は 31.8 日であった。無症状の試験対象者は症状のある試験対象者よりウイルス消失が迅速であった（22 日 vs 34.2 日、P ＜ 0.0001）。診断時の発熱の存在は、より長いウイルス消失期間と関連していた（相対リスク 11.45、95％信頼区間 8.66 ～ 14.25、P ＜ 0.0001）。これらの結果は COVID-19 のパンデミックの今後の管理のための医療戦略に大きな影響を与える可能性がある。

監訳者コメント：
SARS-CoV-2 RNA が陽性であることと感染性があることは必ずしも一致しない。本研究の結果からは PCR 法の陰性化を医療従事者の職場復帰の根拠にするとおよそ 1 か月間は職場復帰ができないことになり、PCR 法の陰性化を隔離解除の根拠にするのは現実的に難しい。
