隔離室の陽圧換気ロビーに供給される超高性能ろ過空気は、保護隔離および感染源隔離の二重の利点をもたらしている。本研究では、患者の保護隔離に対する陽圧換気ロビー室の使用中の有効性を明らかにした。調査された陽圧換気ロビーの空気サンプル 48 件のうち、アスペルギルス・フミガーツス（Aspergillus fumigatus）が検出されたのはサンプル 1 件（2％）のみであった。陽圧換気ロビー室の局所的モニタリングおよび遠隔モニタリングは患者と医療従事者の安全に不可欠である。遠隔および使用場所での工学的制御は継続的な換気のモニタリングに不可欠であるが、一続きとなっている隔離室の目視検査によってこれを補完すべきである。他の制御策とともに定期的な微生物学的モニタリングも検討すべきである。
