COVID-19 among healthcare workers in a specialist infectious diseases setting in Naples, Southern Italy: results of a cross-sectional surveillance study

2020 年 3 月 から 4 月にわたり、イタリアのナポリにある感染症専門病院において無症状の医療従事者を対象に、新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）の調査研究を実施した。すべての医療従事者に対して、重症急性呼吸器症候群コロナウイルス-2（SARS-CoV-2）を対象とした遺伝子検査と血清学的検査を、2 回行った。医療従事者 115 名に検査を行い、このうち 2 例の感染症例が RT-PCR により同定され、医療従事者 2 例が 血清SARS-CoV-2 IgG陽性であった。現在の感染症例と、過去の感染疑い症例を合わせた有病率は 3.4％であった。医療従事者における感染率は、比較的低かった。感染していた医療従事者のほとんどは、過去 30 日間は無症状であり、医療従事者に対する COVID-19 スクリーニングの定期的な実施の必要性が裏付けられる。

イタリアの感染症専門病院の無症状の医療従事者を対象とした COVID-19 スクリーニングの報告。医療従事者の感染には市中感染と職業感染があるが、感染症専門病院は感染者が多く訪れるものの,トレーニングした医療従事者が対応しており感染リスクは必ずしも高くなく、実際には市中で感染するリスクが高い。市中感染を考慮すると感染症専門病院であるなしにかかわらず、市中での有病率が高い時には医療従事者に対する COVID-19 スクリーニングの定期的な実施を検討すべきかもしれない。
