新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）のパンデミックに備えて、英国 National Health Service（NHS）の体制整備を図る国家的な取り組みが進行中である。とはいえ、このような介入の効果は知られていない。この点を踏まえて、英国の大規模な 2 つの急性期 NHS 病院トラストにおける最前線の医療従事者を対象に、このウイルスに対する備えの自信および認識のレベルを評価するために横断調査を実施した。調査からは、COVID-19 に対する医療従事者の準備はある程度の成功をおさめているが、とくに検査診断に関して医療従事者を教育することに、さらに取り組む必要性が確認された。

2020 年 2 月時点での英国 2 施設の医療従事者に対する新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）に対する備えの認識の評価。質問中で検体採取が最も自信がない項目となったが、その他の質問は医療関連感染を類推させる質問ではなかったことから当然の結果と言える。
