Variations in antibiotic use across India: multi-centre study through Global Point Prevalence survey

本研究の目的は、インドにおける抗菌薬の処方パターンおよび処方慣行の多様性を評価することであった。2017 年 10 月から 12 月にかけて、インドの 3 次病院 16 施設において点有病率調査（PPS）を実施した。本調査には PPS の実施日に抗菌薬の投与を受けていたすべての入院患者が含まれ、収集したデータはアントワープ大学のウェブベースのアプリケーションを用いて解析した。全体で 1,750 例の患者を調査し、そのうち 1,005 例は合計 1,578 の抗菌薬の投与を受けていた。処方された抗菌薬のうち 26.87％は市中感染症のため、19.20％は病院感染症のため、17.24％は内科的予防のため、28.70％は外科的予防のため、7.99％は他の目的のためまたは処方理由不明であった。処方理由の記録や処方後の再評価スコアなどの抗菌薬処方の質の指標は低水準であった。本 PPS は幅広い抗菌薬の使用を示し、エビデンスに基づいた診療を促進するために抗菌薬適正使用支援が必要であることを明白にした。

監訳者コメント：
日本でも行われている Global PPS のインドにおける結果である。本文中では周術期の予防抗菌薬としてセフロキシムが最も多く使用されている（36％）ことや、抗菌薬使用理由が約半数で不明なことなどが報告されている。
