この論文では、ギリシャで 2016 年から 2017 年のインフルエンザシーズンの間に、医療従事者のインフルエンザワクチン接種率を上げるために行われた措置の結果を示す。医療従事者のインフルエンザワクチン接種率は上昇し、2015 年から 2016 年のシーズンには急性期病院で 10.9％、1 次医療病院で 24.3％であったが、2016 年から 2017 年のシーズンには急性期病院で 18％、1 次医療病院で 34.6％となった。医療機関内でのワクチン接種および報酬システムの活用は、インフルエンザワクチン接種率の上昇に有意に関連していた。ワクチンを接種した医療従事者に休暇 1 日を付与することは、インフルエンザワクチン接種率の上昇に最も大きく関連していた。

医療従事者のインフルエンザワクチン接種率向上に向けたギリシャにおける取り組みの紹介である。ワクチンを無料にするだけではダメで、さらに 1 日休暇を提供するなどの「ご褒美」がないと接種率が上昇しなかった、とのことである。あまりアメを与えすぎるのもどうかと思うが…
