Towards objective hand hygiene technique assessment: validation of the ultraviolet-dye-based hand-rubbing quality assessment procedure

紫外線スペクトルマーカーは手指衛生の質評価に広く利用されているが、それらの微生物学的検証は完全ではない。我々は、この評価法の微生物学的評価を行った。ヒト手指掌面を模した 25 の手掌モデルを、最初に完全に汚染させたのちに紫外線ラベル含有手指洗浄液を用いて消毒し、紫外線照射下でデジタル画像を撮影した。続いて微生物学的サンプルを採取・培養し、培養菌叢のデジタル画像を撮影した。各手掌モデルの画像のペアについて、ソフトウェアを用いて画像レジストレーションを行った後、ピクセル単位で、紫外線で標識された領域を無菌領域と比較した。統計学的評価により、この評価法は、感度 95.05％、特異度 98.01％で、適切に消毒された領域を示すことが明らかになった。

流水と石けんで手洗いをするときに、蛍光塗料を用いて洗い残しをチェックするということが広く行われているが、この論文は、その妥当性を裏付けてくれた。
