Disinfectant wipes are appropriate to control microbial bioburden from surfaces: use of a new ASTM standard test protocol to demonstrate efficacy

背景
医療環境における接触頻度が高い環境表面からの拭き取りによる汚染除去のために、消毒薬含浸ワイプの使用が広まっている。しかし、現場使用のシミュレーション条件での消毒薬ワイプの検査はほとんど行われておらず、また環境表面用消毒薬の説明書には拭き取り操作に関する記載はほとんどみられない。
目的
拭き取りに特化した新規標準検査法 E2967-15 の評価を、特に表面汚染の除去性能、および獲得した汚染の清浄表面への移行の性能の評価に焦点を当てて行うこと。
方法
ASTM Standard E2967-15 を用いて、独立した 3 か所の検査室で市販のワイプ製品 5 種類の効果を検査した。得られた全データを集約し、標準法の評価として異なる検査室での再現性および同一検査室内での反復性を調べた。
結果
検査したすべての市販消毒薬ワイプは、10 秒間の拭き取りによる黄色ブドウ球菌（Staphylococcus aureus）およびアシネトバクター・バウマニー（Acinetobacter baumanii）の ＞ 4 log₁₀（＞ 99.99％）のコロニー形成単位（CFU）の減少を達成したが、他の表面への菌の移行が阻止されたのは 0.5％加速化過酸化水素を含有する消毒薬ワイプ 1 種類のみであった。
結論
この新たに導入された標準法は、消毒薬ワイプによる接触頻度が高い環境表面からの微生物汚染除去の評価について大幅な進歩がみられており、市販消毒薬ワイプの研究・開発や適切かつ信頼性のある説明書の作成を大いに支援するものとなるはずである。

環境消毒の効果を評価する方法として、新規標準検査法 E2967-15 の有用性を検討した論文である。使用したワイプの種類により、菌の除去や他の場所への再汚染に、あまりにも大きな違いがあることに驚いた。
