エボラウイルス病に罹患した医療従事者のケアを行うために、2014 年 10 月に英国軍がシエラレオネに配備された。Army Medical Services Training Centre が立案した研修パッケージを用いて、必要となる感染予防・制御策のために配置する要員の準備を行った。研修では、エボラ患者を取り扱う際に必要な技術の検証を行うため、またその後の汚染除去の確認のために、紫外線トレーサーを使用した。この研修の内容構成は、臨床医に対する感染制御策に関する有用なフィードバックとなるものであり、また飛沫や媒介物により伝播するあらゆる感染症に関しても有用であると考えられる。
