本論文は JHI に掲載された血液培養の汚染率を低下させるための取り組みに関する Park WB らの論文についてのコメンタリー（論評）である。Park らは内科研修医がローテーションを始める前に血液培養に関するオリエンテーションを行うことによって、血液培養の汚染率が低下したことを報告した。血液培養に限らず、院内感染対策における教育の重要性を再確認できる研究および論評である。
