Prevention and control of healthcare-associated infection in Europe: a review of patients’ perspectives and existing differences

欧州の医療制度は、人口統計学的変化、慢性疾患の急増、および予算削減により、圧迫の度合いが増大している。しかし、拡大する抗菌薬耐性の脅威は、感染症のサーベイランス、制御、および予防の強化を必要としている。さらに、国境を越える移動の重要性が増加していることから、これらの活動を欧州全域で統合的に実施することが必要である。本稿では、こうした目標を達成し、政策レベルおよび施設レベルで医療安全への患者の関与を高めるための欧州の取り組みについて概説する。

日本のような島国に住んでいると、EU（欧州連合）のような概念は理解が難しい。しかし国境を越えた感染対策の取り組みは、そのまま病院を超えた感染対策の取り組みに応用ができるだろう。また本論文で述べられている患者視点の感染対策に関する取り組みも、日本ではまだまだ遅れている。狭い世界に閉じこもらず、常に大海原に目を向けて仕事をしよう！
