Infection control: beyond the horizon

本稿では、感染予防・制御の革新・研究の今後の想定される方向性について考察するとともに、これらの研究で臨床的評価および費用対効果の評価を行うことの重要性について述べる。多数の広範な主題領域、例えば既存および新興感染症の危険の予防・制御、医療の提供方法の変化によりもたらされる課題、感染予防・制御に利用し得る技術の開発、新たな検査室診断技術が感染予防・制御、清掃、およびコンタミネーション除去にもたらす恩恵、ならびに感染制御の観点からの病院設計などについて、それらの研究の機運を考察する。エビデンスに基づく実践の広範かつ時宜を得た適用を推進する、頑健な経済的データが必要であることを強調する。
