介護施設におけるウイルス性胃腸炎アウトブレイクとその制御に対して介護の質の主要な指標が及ぼす影響について、非省庁公的機関が収集した義務的調査のデータを用いて評価した。アウトブレイクの発生は介護施設の規模と関連していたが、全体的な介護の質や個別の施設環境基準とは関連していなかった。介護施設の規模および衛生・感染制御基準スコアは入居者の発生率と負の関連を示し、地域の公衆衛生当局への報告の遅延は高い発生率と関連していた。
