High prevalence of qacA/B carriage among clinical isolates of meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in Malaysia

マレーシア由来のメチシリン耐性黄色ブドウ球菌（meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus；MRSA）分離株 60 株について、塩化ベンザルコニウム（BZT）、塩化ベンゼトニウム（BAC）、およびグルコン酸クロルヘキシジン（CHG）の 3 種類の生体消毒薬に対する最小発育阻止濃度（MIC）を測定した。MIC はすべての分離株で 0.5 から 2 mg/L の範囲であった。消毒薬耐性遺伝子 qacA/B が分離株の 83.3％、smr が 1.6％に検出された。qacA/B 保有は CHG および BAC に対する感受性の低下と関連していた。本稿は、マレーシアの MRSA 分離株における qacA/B および smr 遺伝子の保有率に関する初めての報告であり、高頻度で qacA/B 保有が認められた。これらの消毒薬耐性遺伝子の存在とそれに伴う消毒薬感受性の低下は臨床的な意義を有すると考えられる。
