Blood-borne virus transmission in healthcare settings in Ireland: review of patient notification exercises 1997-2011

医療環境で血液媒介ウイルスに曝露した可能性を調査するためにアイルランドで 1997 年から 2011 年に実施された患者へのリコール^※（PNE）について評価を実施し、将来的な方針と実践に役立てることとした。すべての PNE を特定するため、医療施設の情報提供者と考えられる職員に質問票を送付した。調査責任者が構造化面接を行い、入手した文献の精査を行った。血液媒介ウイルスを対象とした PNE が 10 件特定された。2,000 例もの患者の検査が行われていたにもかかわらず、伝播が認められたのは 1 症例のみであった。しかし、PNE 実施以前に各施設で行われた調査により、6 症例の伝播が特定されていた。
