Mycobacterium mucogenicum and other non-tuberculous mycobacteria in potable water of a trauma hospital: a potential source for human infection

本研究では、メキシコシティーの中核的な外傷病院の飲料水サンプルからの非結核性抗酸菌（NTM）検出頻度を調べた。貯水槽、キッチンの水栓、および浴室のシャワーから各 23 件、合計 69 件の飲料水サンプルを採取した。69 件中 36 件に NTM が認められた。分離株 36 株の内訳は、マイコバクテリウム・ムコゲニカム（Mycobacterium mucogenicum）29 株、マイコバクテリウム・ローデシアエ（Mycobacterium rhodesiae）2 株、マイコバクテリウム・ペレグリナム（Mycobacterium peregrinum）1 株、マイコバクテリウム・フォルトゥイタム（Mycobacterium fortuitum）1 株、Mycobacterium 属菌 3 株であった。NTM が存在する病院飲料水は院内感染の感染源となり得ることから、病院飲料水に関する微生物ガイドラインでは NTM 属菌検査についても触れるべきであると考えられる。
