Risk factors for surgical site infection in children at the teaching hospital Gabriel Touré, Bamako

マリ共和国のGabriel Touré大学病院の 15 歳未満の小児患者を対象として、2010 年 1 月から 6 月に術後の手術部位感染（SSI）に関する 6 か月の前向きサーベイランス研究を実施した。SSI は患児 352 例中 43 例（12.2％）に認められた。また、SSI が有意に多く認められたのは救急手術後、全米病院感染サーベイランスシステム（NNISS）スコア 2 ～ 3 の患者、および熟練した外科医ではなく研修医の手術を受けた患者であった。貧血または栄養不良の小児は、感染症の術後発症率が有意に高かった。患児の性別、術前入院期間、および病室内の患者数は、感染のリスク因子ではないと考えられた（P ＞ 0.05）。
