Consensus standards and performance indicators for prevention and control of healthcare-associated infection in Europe

医療関連感染症とこれに関連する抗菌薬耐性の問題は、医療の提供、患者、患者の家族や介護者、および経済にとっての大きな負担となっている。かつては重要視されていなかったが、現在では患者の安全にとって大きな問題であることが世界的に認識されている。欧州連合保健・消費者保護総局（European Union’s Directorate General for Health and Consumer Protection）は、医療関連感染症の予防・制御により患者の安全を改善する方策に関する公聴会を開催し、抗菌薬の管理基準を強化した。さらに同局は、資金を拠出している「欧州における患者安全の改善」研究プロジェクトに対して、医療関連感染症と抗菌薬耐性の予防・制御のためのコンセンサス標準と、これに関連する成績評価指標を作成することを求めた。本稿では、参加した欧州 29 か国が合意に到達するまでの経緯、コンセンサス標準・成績評価指標の詳細、世界的・全国的に使用できる医療関連感染症の予防・制御の改善を促進・評価するための簡易指標セット（「13 ＋ 13」）、および抗菌薬管理のための活動について述べる。
