Healthcare-associated infection in Shiraz, Iran 2004-2005

医療関連感染症は、罹患および死亡の重要な原因である。入院患者の約10％が医療関連感染症を発症する。イランで初めて実施された、頻度の高い3つの医療関連感染症（尿路感染症、手術部位感染症、血流感染症）の点有病率調査を報告する。2004年5月、2004年9月、2004年11月、および2005年3月の各1日ずつ、8つの参加病院の全入院患者を調査した。米国疾病対策センター（CDC）の全米病院感染サーベイランス（NNIS）システム基準を用いて、患者2,667例の年齢、性別、病棟、臨床的特徴、および臨床検査結果などのデータを調査した。医療関連感染症有病率は臨床部門間で大きなばらつきがあり、3.9％～34.0％の範囲であった。有病率は産婦人科病棟で最も低く、熱傷病棟および集中治療室で最も高かった。シラーズの病院の医療関連感染症有病率はラトビア、スロベニア、フランス、およびイタリアの調査で報告された有病率と比較して高かったが、ギリシャ、ブラジル、サウジアラビア、およびその他の発展途上国との比較では低かった。今回の知見は、イランの医療関連感染症は懸念すべきものであること、また危険因子を特定し予防的介入を行うためにはさらなる研究が必要であることを示している。
