Comparison of an ultrasonic cleaner and a washer disinfector in the cleaning of endodontic files

本研究の目的は、滅菌前に超音波槽または洗浄消毒器で洗浄した歯科用器具の有機残屑の量を比較することである。様々なサイズの合計90の歯科用ファイル（やすり）を、抜歯した歯の根管の洗浄および成形に使用し、その後、歯科用ファイルホルダーに置いた。試験群1（36ファイル）では超音波で10分間洗浄し、試験群2（36ファイル）では洗浄消毒器で洗浄した。対照群（18ファイル）は全く洗浄しなかった。滅菌後、すべてのファイルを光学顕微鏡下で視覚的に検査し、既存のスケールを用いてスコア化した。その結果、両試験群は対照群より残屑が有意に少ないことが示された。試験群での比較では、超音波で洗浄したファイルのほうが、洗浄消毒器で洗浄したファイルより有意に残屑が少なかった。器具ホルダーのデザインは、この結果にかかわる因子であった可能性がある。複雑な表面構造を有する小型歯科用器具の洗浄における洗浄消毒器の使用について、さらなる研究が必要である。

歯科器具における超音波洗浄機の有用性を示した論文と言える。歯科領域のみならず、脳神経外科や整形外科など、細かい器具を使用する領域にも応用可能である。
