What factors influence healthcare professionals’ opinion and attitude regarding information for patients about hospital infection?

医療リスクを患者に説明することによって医療過誤訴訟が減少するとされているが、入院患者の大多数は病院感染に関する説明を受けていない。病院感染のリスクを患者に説明することに関する見解と、病院感染がある、またはない患者に対する説明の実践を評価するために、フランスの22病院から無作為に選択した医療従事者1,270名を、自記式質問票を利用して調査した。医療従事者の特性が見解と実践に及ぼす影響について、ロジスティック回帰を用いて評価した。回答率は87.2％であった。85.4％はさらなる説明を実施することを支持したが、非感染患者にルーチンに説明していた者は17.0％、感染患者に感染の説明をした者は31.6％のみであった。医療従事者の姿勢は、その特性および環境因子により影響を受けていた。説明は義務であるとの認識は、非感染患者に対する説明の実践に影響したが、病院感染患者の場合は影響しなかった。医療従事者によるリスクの伝達および病院感染の公表の改善を促進するために、さらなる研究が必要である。
