Factors influencing influenza vaccination rates among healthcare workers in Greek hospitals

医療従事者のインフルエンザ予防接種率は、世界各国において一般的に低い。2005年9月にギリシャ疾病予防管理センター（Hellenic Center for Disease Control and Prevention）が、病院医療従事者のインフルエンザ予防接種率を向上させるための全国的キャンペーンを実施した。2005年から2006年のインフルエンザシーズン中、医療従事者の全予防接種率は16.36％（範囲0～85.96％）であった。その前年度のシーズン中の自己申告による予防接種率は1.72％であり、9.5倍の増加を示した。医師と比較して、技術部門職員の予防接種率は有意に低く、一方、管理部門職員の予防接種率は高かった。臨床医の接種率は、内科部門が外科部門を2.71倍、臨床検査医学部門を2.36倍上回っていた。多変量解析により、大規模病院（＞200床）のほうが小規模病院よりも予防接種率が低いこと、および専門病院（集中治療室、精神科、または皮膚科）のほうが総合病院よりも予防接種率が低いことが示された。高い接種率と関連のある因子は、北部ギリシャでの勤務、小児病院または腫瘍専門病院勤務、または鳥インフルエンザH5N1発生県での勤務であった。結論として、ギリシャの医療従事者のインフルエンザ予防接種率は依然として低いが、全国規模のキャンペーン活動は多大な影響力があった。予防接種率を上げるためには、病院および医療従事者関連の因子に注目した検討が必要である。

ギリシャのインフルエンザ予防ワクチン接種率が低いのには驚きました。本邦の学会報告では、90％以上を軒並み超える病院が見られていますが、これには国民性の違いというのも大きく関与しているように思えます（本稿では取り上げておりませんが・・・）。
