Diploma in Hospital Infection Control（DipHIC；病院感染制御ディプローマ）は、Hospital Infection Society（英国病院感染学会）、London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine（ロンドン大学公衆衛生学・熱帯医学大学院）、およびPublic Health Laboratory Service［公衆衛生研究所サービス、現在のHealth Protection Agency（健康保護局）］により、1997年に創設された。著者らは、過去の経験的学習実績の認定ルート（accreditation of prior experiental learning）によるDipHICの資格考査についての重要な変更点を概説するとともに、リフレクション（reflection）※の実例へのウェブリンクを記載し、またDipHIC取得者の氏名を取得ルート別に掲示する。

科学的論文ではないが、イギリスの感染制御に関する資格制度を知る上で参考になる。日本人で唯一のDipHIC取得者である堀　賢氏（順天堂大学）の名前も掲載されている。
