ノロウイルスに対する擦式アルコール製剤の in vivo での有効性：実際の条件をシミュレートした新たな欧州標準試験法★

背景
ノンエンベロープウイルスは消毒液に対して特に耐性を示すため、ウイルス感染症の伝播を予防・制御するには、実証済みの殺ウイルス活性を有する消毒薬を使用する必要がある。しかし、手指擦式製剤の殺菌効果を判定するための対照薬として内部標準を使用する欧州規格 EN 1500 のような試験は依然として不足している。本研究は、ノンエンベロープウイルスに対する手指擦式製剤の in vivo での有効性を試験する欧州標準を確立することを目的とした。
方法
対照薬としてのエタノールの適用濃度および方法を決定し、よく使用される 2 種類の手指擦式製剤の有効性と比較した。ボランティアの手指はマウスノロウイルス株 S99 で汚染させた。
結果
70％ wt/wt エタノール（2 × 3 mL／2 × 30 秒）を内部対照薬として使用した。市販のエタノールベースの手指擦式製剤は 30 秒でマウスノロウイルス力価を有意に減少させることができたのに対し、エタノールおよびプロパン-2-オールベースの手指擦式製剤は、対照薬と比較して有意に効果が低かった。
結論
本研究によって、ノンエンベロープウイルスに対する擦式アルコール製剤の in vivo での有効性を試験するための、マウスノロウイルス、低汚染量の手法、内部対照薬としてのエタノールを用いた可能性のある基準が確立された。これらの知見は欧州共同試験で確認する必要がある。
