Efficacy assessment of different time cycles of nebulized hydrogen peroxide against bacterial and yeast biofilms

背景

医療関連感染症の予防には持続的な取り組みが必要である。より実質的な結果を達成するために、有効な消毒対策により環境微生物のバイオフィルム制御に取り組むべきである。

目的

細菌および酵母の乾燥バイオフィルムに対する異なる時間サイクルでの過酸化水素（H₂O₂）噴霧の有効性を試験すること。

方法

標準サイクルと高速サイクルの H₂O₂ 噴霧の有効性を比較した。さまざまな材料のクーポン上で微生物バイオフィルムを増殖させた。バイオフィルムの代謝活性を XTT アッセイにより測定し、バイオフィルムの総バイオマスをクリスタルバイオレットアッセイにより測定した。

結果

バイオフィルムに対する H₂O₂ 噴霧の有効性に関して、代謝活性の低下の平均は標準サイクルで 55.2％（標準偏差［SD］19.4％）であったのに対して、高速サイクルでは 50.4％（SD 17.7％）であった。総バイオマスの低下の平均は標準サイクルで 45.5％（SD 22.7％）、高速サイクルでは 46.7％（SD 21.7％）であった。試験サイクルと材料の間に有意差は認められなかった。

結論

医療関連微生物の乾燥バイオフィルムに対して、H₂O₂ 噴霧は良好な有効性を示すことが確認された。さらに、標準サイクルと高速サイクル間で同等の有効性が示された。
