Virucidal efficacy of different formulations for hand and surface disinfection targeting SARS CoV-2

SARS CoV-2 のパンデミックが継続するなか、効果的な消毒方法が必要とされており、欧州標準化委員会（CEN）の方法論的フレームワークに基づくガイダンスによって効果的な消毒薬を即時に選択できる可能性がある。本研究は、欧州規格（EN）14476 でもドイツウイルス疾病管理協会（DVV）およびロベルト・コッホ研究所（RKI）（German Association for the Control of Viral Diseases/Robert Koch Institute［DVV/RKI］）ガイドラインでも定めらている「エンベロープウイルスに対する殺ウイルス効果」をうたう消毒薬が、SARS CoV-2 を効果的に不活化するかどうかを解明することを目的とした。市販の 2 種類の表面消毒用製剤と 1 種類の手指消毒用製剤の殺ウイルス効果に関して検討した。本研究のデータによると、EN 14476 とDVV/RKI ガイドラインで用いられる標準的な試験ウイルスであるワクシニアと比較して、エンベロープ型の SARS-CoV-2 は同等以上の感受性を示す。したがって、EN 14476 とDVV/RKI ガイドラインで「エンベロープウイルスに対する殺ウイルス効果」をうたう化学消毒剤は、エンベロープ型の SARS-CoV-2 を標的とする予防策として効果的な選択肢の 1 つとなる可能性がある。

感染予防対策としてSARS-CoV-2に対して70％エタノールの使用が世界保健機関（WHO）から推奨されている。他の消毒薬については、「エンベロープを有するウイルスに対して殺ウイルス効果」のあることが要求されている。本論文では欧州規格（EN14476）と独ロバート・コッホ研究所のガイドラインに準拠して標準的な実験を実施したところ、アルコールベースと4級アンモニウム塩主体の両者において4log10以上のウイルス減少が認められ、新型コロナウイルスへの殺ウイルス効果が確認された。
