新型コロナウイルス(SARS-CoV-2)で汚染された一般的な医療施設の表面に対する過酢酸のドライフォグの噴霧による汚染除去

背景
新型コロナウイルス(SARS-CoV-2)のパンデミックは、特に医療現場において安全で効果的な表面の汚染除去法が緊急に必要であることを浮き彫りにした。
目的
実験的に SARS-CoV-2 で汚染された医療施設の表面の汚染除去における過酢酸(PAA)のドライフォグの噴霧の有効性を評価すること。
方法
9 つの素材(ステンレススチール、ラテックスを塗布した木材、封止されていない堅木材、メラミン製のカウンター、ビニール床材、透明なプラスチック、合成皮革、コンピューターのキーボードのボタン、スマートフォンのタッチスクリーン)の表面を 50%組織培養感染量(TCID50)の中央値が> 106 の SARS-CoV-2 で汚染し、PAA のドライフォグに曝露する前に乾燥させた。
結果
PAA のドライフォグで 1 時間燻蒸消毒した場合、実験的に播種したいずれの種類の表面からも感染性のある SARS-CoV-2 は回収されなかった。一方、対応する同素材で未処理の乾燥した対照物からは高力価の感染性ウイルスが回収された。
結論
スプレーおよびワイプを含む標準的な表面の汚染除去法は多くの時間と労力を要し、精密な電子機器を完全には汚染除去できないことが多い。PAA のドライフォグの噴霧はその使いやすさ、コストの低さ、全般的な有効性によって医療現場、とりわけ SARS-CoV-2 の重症患者が治療を受ける集中治療室の汚染除去法として検討されるべきであることが示唆される。
監訳者コメント:
耐性菌対策において消毒薬の噴霧は紫外線と並んで環境消毒の手法として期待されている方法である。新型コロナウイルス感染症でもその位置付けが検討されていくだろう。
