ノースウェスト・イングランドにおける股関節骨折患者の COVID-19 の院内伝播の低減を目的とした限定的な施策★

股関節骨折患者は、新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）の影響を受けやすい。ノースウェスト・イングランドの病院の整形外科外傷部門 23 施設において、COVID-19 の院内伝播の制御を図る方法を決定するために、横断調査を実施した。スワブ陰性の確定前に 19 施設（87％）が患者を病棟に入院させており、バリアナーシング（注：スワブ陰性が確定するまで厳重な看護を行う）が行われたのは 9 施設（39％）のみであった。21 施設（91％）では、COVID-19 患者が手術される可能性のある手術室で大腿骨近位部骨折患者の手術が実施された。外傷病棟および COVID-19 汚染区域で働く医師の定期的なスクリーニングは、それぞれ 3 施設（13％）、5 施設（22％）で実施された。22 施設（96％）では、医師が外傷病棟と汚染区域間を自由に移動していた。
監訳者コメント：
股関節骨折は高齢者に多く、整形外科領域の COVID-19 対策も重要である。流行期においては厳重な対策を行う必要がある。
