Transmission of infection from non-isolated patients with COVID-19 to healthcare workers

十分に保護されていない医療従事者は、新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）患者との高リスク接触者と定義されており、ルーチンに隔離される。本研究では、症状のある COVID-19 患者から医療従事者 60 名への感染症伝播（2m 以下の距離で 15 分以上曝露またはエアロゾル発生手技中に曝露）について評価した。106 名以上の新たな高リスク接触者がみられ、その後、検査で SARS-CoV-2 RNA 陽性または抗体産生が確認された医療従事者はいなかった。医療従事者は、基本的な感染予防策の遵守を報告した。これらの結果は、他の報告と一致しており、医療従事者を安心させるとともに、無症状の医療従事者の自宅隔離という現行の方法の根拠について広範な評価を促すものである。

監訳者コメント：
施設内で新型コロナウイルス感染症の集団感染が発生すると、十分な防護策が取られていなかった医療従事者は濃厚接触者となり自宅隔離となるが、一方で濃厚接触者が多数発生すると施設の機能維持が困難になる。無症状の濃厚接触者を一律に自宅隔離することを一考させる報告である。
