本論文では新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）患者の治療専用病棟で働く医療従事者において観察された新型コロナウイルスへの感染率を、非 COVID-19 病棟で働く医療従事者と比較して報告する。非 COVID-19 病棟で働く医療従事者の感染率は有意に高く（オッズ比 2.3、P ＝ 0.005）、ソーシャル・ディスタンシング（社会的距離確保）の方策とトレーニングを強化する必要性が示された。

COVID-19 病棟で働く医療従事者より非 COVID-19 病棟で働く医療従事者の方が感染率が高いという報告。この研究でも COVID-19 患者のケア自体が医療従事者の SARS-CoV-2 感染の危険因子ではなく、トレーニングとソーシャル・ディスタンシングの強化が重要であることがわかる。
