Antimicrobial-resistant Gram-negative colonization in infants from a neonatal intensive care unit in Thailand

南アジアや東南アジアの入院中の新生児において、抗菌薬耐性グラム陰性菌は感染および死亡の主な原因である。本研究の目的は、タイの新生児集中治療室の患児を対象に、抗菌薬耐性グラム陰性菌の保菌動態を明らかにすることである。登録患児 97 例のうち 52％は、入院中のある時点で基質特異性拡張型βラクタマーゼ（ESBL）産生菌を保菌し、64％はカルバペネム耐性菌を保菌していた。急速な ESBL 陽性菌およびカルバペネム耐性菌の獲得が認められた。患児が抗菌薬耐性菌を保菌すると、その後の NICU 入室期間中、保菌状態は継続した。

監訳者コメント：
タイの新生児集中治療室の患児の 52％が ESBL 産生菌を保菌し、64％がカルバペネム耐性菌を保有していたという論文である。考察には、タイのコミュニティの調査では ESBL 産生菌保菌が 89％であったことが反映されているのでは、という記載があったが、母体の保菌についてのデータはなく、関連性は明らかではなかった。
