Microbial water quality management of dental unit water lines at a dental school

歯科用ユニットの給水管路の汚染は、歯科診療所において微生物の拡散源となる可能性がある。本研究では大規模歯学部において、歯科用ユニット給水管路中の水の微生物数を経時的に調査した。231 の歯科用ユニットから採取した水の質について、1 年半にわたり 3 回検査を行った（175 の学生クリニックの歯科用ユニットと、56 のスタッフクリニックの歯科用ユニットを含めた）。スタッフクリニックの歯科用ユニット給水管路は、オランダの基準要件である 100 コロニー形成単位（cfu）/mL を満たしていた。学生クリニックの歯科用ユニット給水管路でこの基準要件を遵守する数が増加していることから、各現場のプロトコールは十分である一方、遵守率には改善の余地があることが示唆された。

監訳者コメント：
歯科用ユニットの水質および細菌混入については、国内でもかねてから議論され、実際の菌数の計測、次亜塩素酸の使用による菌数抑制、レジオネラ汚染と対策など報告が増えつつある。しかしながら給水汚染の制御法については未確立で、現実的な対応の模索が続いている。海外を含めた情報を検討し、さらに議論と対策の実施が進むことに期待する。
