Service evaluation of alcohol-release door plates: an addition to hand hygiene

アルコールを放出するドアプレート「Surfaceskins」の設置が、医療従事者によるルーチンの衛生用アルコールハンドジェルの使用に及ぼす影響を検討するため、service evaluation（使用評価）を行った。手術室 2 室に Surfaceskins のドアプレートを設置した後、医療従事者によるアルコールハンドジェルディスペンサーの使用はおよそ 2 倍に増加した。しかし Surfaceskins のドアプレートがルーチンの手指衛生の代わりになるというエビデンスは認められなかった。ドアプレートは、医療環境において、さらにはドアに頻繁に触れることによって感染予防が損なわれやすい環境（例えば、トイレ、レストラン）において、ルーチンの手指衛生の有用な補助手段となると結論づけられる。

監訳者コメント：
本検討では、出入口にドアプレートを置くという介入そのものが、ハンドジェルディスペンサーの使用頻度にも影響を及ぼした（実際に介入期間が終了すると、ディスペンサーの使用頻度も減少した）。スタッフの手指衛生に関する意識・心理的な効果をも明らかにする結果となった。
